Swarfix® WCT 958 Completes First Commercial Offshore Operation

Swarfix® WCT 958 has successfully completed its first commercial offshore operation. Fully qualified at TRL7 and approved by Equinor, the system is now field-proven and ready for broader deployment.

The Swarfix® WCT 958 has completed its first commercial operation offshore, marking a significant milestone in the technology’s development.

Following four successful pilot runs, the Swarfix® WCT 958 was qualified at Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL7) and formally approved by Equinor. The commercial job confirms its performance under live operational conditions.

With both the Swarfix® WCT 958 and the larger Swarfix® WCT 1338 now available, operators benefit from greater flexibility across a wider range of milling operations — enabling tailored solutions to specific well conditions and operational objectives.

Key outcomes from the job:
🔍 100% downhole swarf collection
🧲 Verified by magnets placed below the wellhead and at surface
🔒 No swarf exposure to BOP
🛡️ No swarf exposure to personnel
📉 Improved HSE and swarf control
📈 Improved operational efficiency

The Swarfix® WCT system is developed for consistent and efficient downhole swarf removal — helping operators reduce risk, protect personnel and equipment, and minimise non-productive time.
